TESTING OF LINE HARDWARE, ELECTRICAL CONDUCTORS, CABLES

The testing laboratory of "LIZO Ltd." provides a wide range of tests of hardware for distribution overhead power lines, conductors of electrical and fiber-optic cables.

Modern equipment and advanced measuring instruments, highly skilled personnel with many years of experience: thanks to successful combination of technical and human resources, it allows testing at a high technical level. The laboratory is equipped with unique testing facilities with a high degree of automation of the test procedures. To obtain reliable results of tests and their assessment, the personnel of the testing laboratory constantly updates the existing equipment and (measuring instruments).

The laboratory of "LIZO Ltd." meets all the criteria for independence of testing laboratories, as evidenced by the Accreditation Certificate No. 201383 issued by the National Accreditation Agency of Ukraine and the External Audit Report by Certification Authority IEn (Institute of Energy), Poland. It ensures objectivity, independence, confidentiality and impartiality.

Testing of piercing connectors:
- Permanent marking
- Mechanical damage of main conductor
- Dielectrical voltage test (in water and in air)
- Corrosion ageing test in salt fog and/or in sulfur dioxide environment

- Check of twist-off bolt functioning at high and low temperatures
- Impact resistance at low temperature
- Waterproofing
- Electrical ageing with periodical short circuit

Testing of anchor (crimping) and suspension (trunnion-type) clamps: 
- Permanent marking
- Mechanical damage under physical force
- Dielectric voltage test (in water and in air)
- Corrosive ageing test in salt fog and/or in sulfur dioxide environment
- UV resistance
- Extension at external temperature and at high and low temperatures
- Slip of conductor at high and low temperatures
- Clamp bolt tightening

Testing of box joints and cable terminals:
- Permanent marking resistance
- Mechanical tests
- Dielectric voltage test in air (Class 2)
- Dielectric voltage test in water (Class 1)
- Waterproofing test (Cable terminals)
- Corrosion test
- Bi-metallic corrosion in sodium hydroxide (NaOH) solution
- Climatic ageing test (UV – radiation)
- Test at low temperature
- Electrical ageing test
- Fatigue test under the influence of mechanical and heat loading.

Testing of conductors of electrical and fiber-optic cables:
- Design, geometrical dimensions, weight verification tests
- Voltage test
- Measurement of resistance of current-carrying conductors at DC current
- High-temperature and low-temperature stability
- Mechanical parameters of wires test
- Solar radiation resistance test
- Vertical distribution of flame of a single insulated wire or cable test
